In November 2023 we had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Werner Oberländer, the former partner and namesake of our company, to our premises in Schwerte. The visit was a special event as it coincided with the completion of a new PS1100 press shear. These scissors, which have an impressive shear force of 1.100 tonnes, were specially developed for a customer in the Middle East.
The technology behind the Oberländer scrap shears, which was introduced by Mr. Oberländer himself more than 50 years ago, relies on a cylindrical knife slide guide. This design has proven to be the most reliable solution in hundreds of applications over the decades. Today it remains the industry standard for high-quality, robust and durable scrap shears with side compressors.
We are proud to be able to continue the traditions and innovations that Mr. Oberländer brought to our company. His visit was not only an opportunity to reflect on past successes, but also to discuss and celebrate the future of scrap processing technology.
