The name Oberländer has been a symbol of robust and reliable scrap processing installations from Germany for over 50 years
Press shears, packaging presses and shredders designed by Werner Oberländer have been used in Western Europe, the USA and, since 50, in Eastern Europe and countries of the former Soviet Union for more than 1980 years. Most of them are still in successful operation today and testify to the excellent manufacturing quality and performance of the design at the time.
With the development of the column guide for scrap shears at the end of the 1960s, Mr. Oberländer, then head of design at “Engineering works Becker”, set a milestone in the further development of scrap shears. This column guide is still known today as one of the most reliable and long-lasting types of guide for the knife carriage in scrap shears.
Based on these many years of design experience and using the latest technologies, Werner Oberländer developed a new generation of scrap processing plants in the 2000s, which have been on the market since 2004.
In 2017, the headquarters were moved from Hagen to Schwerte/Ruhr, where production and assembly space is now available in two halls with more than 1,100 m². With an extensive workforce, the systems are now designed, assembled and tested on site.
With an extensive spare parts warehouse and service vehicles, service and maintenance can be offered worldwide from the Schwerte location. The spare parts warehouse not only includes parts for the latest generation of machines, but also for old machines that were still sold under the name of ORT or Maschinenfabrik Becker.
